The hard hitting part
What is your role today and your objective?
I’m the National Business Development Lead at Stratton Finance. My focus is around 3 key areas:
- Collaboration – Ensuring all our internal departments are communicating and collaborating effectively, sharing the same goals and objectives. We offer a wide range of financial products and we need to talk about them to all our customers all the time! I’d like to utilise the skills of the people we have to build the best BD team in finance!
- Building key partnerships – I’m all about long term partnerships, working with business’ that share similar culture and values that allow us to grow together in tandem and mutually benefit one another.
- Adding Value - A big reason as to why the function exists is to develop and add value to our broker network and bring in key partnerships and lead volume to the business that will engage and excite the team.
What’s an example of a great SF customer experience you’ve been involved with?
At Stratton we have them daily. I’m privy to the reviews that we receive from clients to the broker network and read every single one that comes to my email. As a broker the simplest review from a happy client makes you feel great!. I love the fact we have so many options for a client to be able to talk to us, whether it be on the phone, text or email or through our digital experience where they don’t have to talk to anyone if they’d prefer not to. Having the consumer control their destiny is a key driver in building a market leading customer journey.
How do you feel SF is differentiated in the market and the value we add?
Just take a walk into our office. I think we are able to combine a focused professional and ethical workplace whilst having a fun, energetic office with everyone engaged in driving customer outcomes. Add to that the investment we have put into our technology and we have all of the attributes required to be the best at what we do, which is make finance competitive, quick and easy for consumers and business’ alike.
What are you most excited about for the future?
Personally I have a baby on the way, which is incredibly exciting and a new chapter in my own life, I can’t wait to be a dad! Within Stratton I feel as though we have the opportunity and the right internal drivers to turn our business development function into a best in class operation providing outstanding service and communication to our key partners and enabling new opportunities for business that will project Stratton’s growth over the coming years. Hugely exciting!
Most importantly, why do you love coming to work everyday?
I have a huge passion for bringing people together and building relationships both in and outside of work. I love coming to work at Stratton to influence and help the team grow and improve both them and I as much as I can because I’m a big believer in the mantra that if you look after your people the rest will take care of itself. So in short, it’s the people!
