Rob Chaloner, Managing Director of stratton, is quoted in today's edition of The Australian Financial Review. The article entitled "Drive for finance assistance accelerates" takes a closer look at the current finance needs of the Australian car industry.
As a result of recent announcements that financiers GE and GMAC will shortly exit the motor vehicle business in Australia, Chaloner said that more than 100 dealers had enquired about wholesale financing with stratton. "The phone is ringing all the time. We're currently working with dealerships looking to refinance their floorplan arrangements, and assisting them to secure retail contracts for customers purchasing cars. We can finance up to 85% of a car dealer's current assets - often without directors' guarantees," said Chaloner from Melbourne today.

stratton this month launched a brand new finance partnership with drive.com.au.
drive.com.au is one of Australia's leading, independent automotive sites. As well as displaying a large range of new and used car listings, including dealer and private sales, drive.com.au also features quality motoring content from highly regarded printed publications such as The Age and The Sydney Morning Herald.
Rob Chaloner, Managing Director of stratton, said that stratton was pleased to be able to offer market leading online tools and calculators to drive.com.au visitors, assisting them with the purchase of vehicles that fit their lifestyles and personal circumstances.
"Our partnership with drive.com.au is part of our commitment to simplifying the car finance and vehicle purchase process for car buyers nationally," said Chaloner. "Buying a car is a significant purchase for most of us - for many people it's the first sizeable purchase they make. It's important to have access to accurate information and objective advice before you make a contractual commitment."
"We want to see people living their lifestyle goals and driving a car they enjoy. We also want to make sure that they're financing effectively according to their levels of income, tax and commitments.
