Stratton Finance has started the new financial year with the opening of five new franchised branches.
Brisbane has gained three new branches covering the Bayside, Redlands and Brisbane South areas, whilst Perth has gained new branches in the Rockingham and South East Metro & Hills areas.

Stratton Finance recently opened its first franchised branch in Queensland, with Stratton Finance Sunshine Coast now owned and operated by local businessman, Andy Watson.
Andy, who has extensive experience in finance and business, said he was looking forward to running his own business and being able to help his customers make better informed finance and insurance decisions.
"After being involved with the financial services industry as an employee, partner and customer previously, I decided to join the Stratton Finance network to provide really personal and objective finance and insurance advice. Stratton Finance continues to grow in spite of the economic downturn with the recent launch of a new franchised branch, Stratton Finance Joondalup (WA). Further announcements confirming franchised branches in Queensland, New South Wales and South Australia are expected in the coming months.
Stratton Finance Joondalup is owned and managed by Peter Harrison, an industry professional with significant experience in Australia and the United Kingdom. Mr Harrison said that he was looking forward to providing the Joondalup community with quality finance and insurance solutions, local support and a can-do community attitude.

On 3rd of February 2009, the Federal Government released further information related to the temporary business investment allowance for general business and small business first announced in December 2008. This tax break comes in the form of an additional tax deduction equal to:
In both cases, small businesses with a turnover less than $2 million per year will be able to claim the deduction for eligible assets costing $1,000 or more.
A minimum expenditure threshold of $10,000 applies for other businesses.
The deductions apply to most new tangible depreciating assets - including most cars and items of plant and equipment - and may also apply to new expenditure on existing assets. This means a business can receive a tax deduction of up to 30 per cent more for investment brought forward and in place by 30th of June 2010.

Stratton Finance today confirmed that retail finance is available for car dealers and private buyers. Rob Chaloner, Managing Director, reassured dealers that Stratton will continue to offer retail finance solutions to dealerships - no lengthy accreditation or set-up costs apply.
Following the announcement that Ford Credit will cease to provide retail finance from Febuary 28, in only six weeks time, Chaloner confirmed that Stratton Finance will continue to work with dealerships to implement retail finance solutions. "We can have a dealership retail solution up and running in less than an hour," said Chaloner. "The process is simple and there are no fees for setting up the solution. Dealers can produce finance quotes and secure conditional approval instantly using our online tools."
Stratton can also assist dealers with commercial finance facilities and refinancing of floorplan arrangements.

Rob Chaloner, Managing Director of Stratton Finance, is quoted in today's edition of The Australian Financial Review. The article entitled "Drive for finance assistance accelerates" takes a closer look at the current finance needs of the Australian car industry.
As a result of recent announcements that financiers GE and GMAC will shortly exit the motor vehicle business in Australia, Chaloner said that more than 100 dealers had enquired about wholesale financing with Stratton Finance. "The phone is ringing all the time. We're currently working with dealerships looking to refinance their floorplan arrangements, and assisting them to secure retail contracts for customers purchasing cars. We can finance up to 85% of a car dealer's current assets - often without directors' guarantees," said Chaloner from Melbourne today.

Rob Chaloner, Managing Director of Stratton Finance, appeared on ABC's Inside Business on Sunday 9 November.
Despite the recent announcements that financiers GE and GMAC will shortly exit the motor vehicle business in Australia, Chaloner confirmed that Stratton Finance is currently working with dealerships requiring commercial finance facilities and looking to refinance their floorplan arrangements, and assisting them to secure retail contracts for customers purchasing cars.
